Visiting the Shop

Jeroboams is situated right in the heart of Portobello Market, a buzzing area where you will find Antiques, vintage clothes shops and delicatessens as well as our friends, Books for Cooks and Ceramica Blue. We sell wines from £5 to £500, from all the classic countries, and we are currently very proud of our Italian and South African selection. There are always in-store offers and of course don’t forget free local delivery on any orders.

Do pay us a visit and then move on to one of the many Italian restaurants around the corner or perhaps catch a movie on a double sofa in the ornate surroundings of the Electric Cinema

With Summer making the occasional (but very welcome) appearance of late and the smell of BBQ's and sunscreen floating through the air, white wines are taking centre stage here in Notting Hill. Whether it be for a relaxed picnic in the park or a Sunday BBQ, nothing goes down better than a chilled white shared with family or friends.

When you visit our shop, if the weather is hot, we are likely to suggest something like the impressive 2008 Thorn Clarke Riesling. This dry white from the cooler climate Eden Valley, which borders the Barossa, has a touch of the petrol and mineral-like aromas often found in many quality, aged Rieslings.

It has wonderful, crisp and refreshing natural acidity with vibrant citrus flavours of lime and lemon, finishing with a delicious touch of sherbet on the back palate that has you returning almost immediately for another sip.

This is a mouth-watering white at an equally mouth-watering price of £9.75 and if you visit during the World Cup, mention this blog and we'll take 10% off the price.

Of course, we have hundreds of other suggestions in-store for whatever the occasion and one of our specialties is providing advice on matching our wines with your food. So next time you grab the rug and picnic set, don't forget the most important ingredient. It will be waiting for you; icy-cold in our fridge just off Portobello Road on Elgin Crescent.
