Our global selection provides you with a plethora of choice endeavoring to keep your cellar stocked up with fine or everyday quality drinking wine. The hot weather that we have witnessed over the past few weeks has afforded me the opportunity to eat at an unprecedented number of barbeques. However this often poses a challenge in regards to choosing the appropriate drink. Do you go for a chilled Rosé to refresh and revitalise from the summer sun or perhaps a robust bottle of red to compliment the food? Luckily there is a solution, have a bottle of each to hand. There are two in particular that I have tucked into all too frequently over this hot spell. In the Rosé department it has been the 2008 Whispering Angel Cote de Provence on sale for £11.95. With a beautiful salmon pink appearance and wonderful ripe flavours of cherries and peaches this is the perfect drink for a summers evening and a great way to unwind after a stressful day. On the other hand 2008 Artazuri Tinto from Bodega Artazu in Navarra on sale for £7.95 is an unctuous medium bodied red made from 100% Grenache that possess a complex, elegant, raspberry, black cherry, and floral-scented nose with great fruit, tremendously vivid flavours, and amazing precision on the palate. In short a fantastic wine that is a perfect partner for sticky barbequed meat. |
