The Riesling grape continues to be Alsace's strongest suit and Jean Sipp's Kirchberg is widely recognised as one of the best of its ilk. The 2007 delivers lots of seductive, fat, grapey, peachy fruit and makes a fine aperitif now or can be put away until 2015 or longer to await those classic, riesling petrol flavours. A classic Bordeaux blend with a good pedigree. Shows an elegant style, a firm, tight core of rounded tannins combined with a well balanced acidity. Slightly smoky on the palate, with ripe black berry fruits, green peppers and subtle oak giving a rounded finish.
