2013 Pena Tinto, Bodega El Angosto, Valencia (6 x Bottle)
Redcurrant, cherry and loganberry mingle with some spicy wood notes. Quite full bodied with dark fruits, some tasty creamy oak and ripe sweet tannins.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The blended red, the 2013 Angosto is made up of 40% Syrah, 40% Garnacha and 20% Cabernet Franc from slopes where soils are shallower and vines find a natural balance more easily. The grapes fermented separately initially with indigenous yeasts; once fermentation is over the wine is racked and put into 500- and 600-liter oak barrels where it matures for approximately one year. I see a little bit more wood than I would have liked with plenty of cinnamon and vanilla aromas and in a style reminiscent of the wines from around the turn of the century. It has a nicely-crafted, modern and light palate that is lacking in the center. 30,000 bottles were produced.
