2014 St. Peray, Terres Boisees Domaine Alain Voge (12 x Bottle)

France Rhone North Rhone

(raised in one-third new oak): Limpid gold. Pungent lemon zest and melon scents are complemented by notes of pear skin, vanilla and honey. Juicy and smooth on entry, then minerally and nervy in the mid-palate, offering intense citrus and pit fruit flavors and a suave floral nuance. Closes sappy and very long, with resonating florality and very good focus. The 2013 version of this bottling is showing brilliantly, by the way, with intense floral and mineral character and just a touch of sexy oak spices.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate

A classic Marsanne with its rich, sautéed apple and brioche-like aromas and flavors, the 2014 Saint Péray Terres Boisées (100% Marsanne aged 13 months in 30% new French oak) is medium-bodied, rounded, and beautifully textured on the palate, with solid freshness and purity as well as plenty of richness. Drink it over the coming couple of years.
