2015 Volnay, 1er Cru Santenots, Domaine Darviot Perrin (6 x Bottle)
The 2015 Volnay 1er Cru Les Santenots has a very appealing bouquet with ebullient red cherries and strawberry fruit, a hint of vanilla in the background and yet the terroir really comes through here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. This is a more controlled and introspective Les Santenots, not as flamboyant or as precocious as say Dominique Lafon's, yet I adored the focus and the delineation towards the finish. This is superb.
