2023 Finca Garabelos Albarino, Notas Frutales de Albarino
After a career as a pharmacist, José Alonso returned to his family property with his wife Teresa and sister-in-law Elena to cultivate the six vineyards on the right bank of the Miño River, in the south-eastern corner of Rias Baixas, towards the Portuguese border. At the heart of these is the family’s Finca Garabelos, a single plot where granite soils and low-yielding, older vines produce a wine of greater weight and texture than many Albariños, with a hint of white pepper to complement the prevailing tropical fruit and honeysuckle tones.
£33.50 1 x Bottle (75 cl)
Tasting notes
A fresh and elegant wine with aromas of pear, lemon and melon mingling with white blossom. On the palate there is a creamy texture, notes of white peach and white pepper, with a nutty almond complexity on the long finish.
