Wire Works Bourbon Barrel is something of a landmark release for this young distillery. As ex-bourbon barrels are a relatively "inactive" cask type, they allow the distillery's unique spirit character to shine. This release was filled into fresh barrels from Heaven Hills Distillery in Kentucky, and features some of the oldest liquid at White Peak. Lots of sweet vanilla, chocolate and nuts, combined with lemon curd, candied ginger, honey and apple crumble. A delicious dram.
