2024 Ponte Branco, Herdade do Mouchao
Add to WishlistThe Alentejano isn't known for its white wines given the intense heat, so it takes a high level of skill in the vineyard and cellars to produce one with a balance of ripeness and freshness. The 2023 Ponte Branco from Herdade do Mouchão is 1 00% verdelho, fermented in stainless steel before a time in new French oak barriques to finish fermentation. Some battonage to stir fine lees gives this wine a lovely rich texture that compliments the notes of white flowers and stone fruit. Lively with a delightful vibrancy, the combination of freshness, complexity and concentration is unusual for a white from this region.

Tasting notes
Lovely nose balancing white flowers, stone fruit, citrus peel and spice. The palate is creamy, but with vibrant acidity, more stone fruit flavour and a zippy, rich finish.
